Flexa requested us to create a social media campaign about their new Color of the Year. A color which is introduces yearly and is chosen by top designers of Flexa. This color is launched globally and based on trends in design.
The Netherlands was one of the few countries who introduces this color via social media.
Since social media was not being used globally, assets and guidelines for translating the campaign to social were non-existent. This meant we had to use the assets given by global to create a social media campaign from scratch.
We straight away thought about using a live stream to launch the new product, which meant we had to tease the new introduction to Flexa’s followers to create a buzz surrounding the live stream.
We started with teasing the launch using video animations and introducing the upcoming color. We were limited in assets for these videos since we could not use the delivered assets yet, only after the launch.
A countdown was launched several hours before the launch to get more attention to the live stream. During the live stream, the color was introduced by one of the Dutch Flexa designers. After this, it was time to launch our main visual for the new Color of the Year: Spiced Honey.
For several months, social media content was published showing the different color palettes related to the new color. This was done by showing the same living areas in different colors and combinations.
All content related to Spiced Honey had its own grid with #SPICEDHONEY. We mainly focused on imagery, combining this with subtle text to show the colors that were being used in the images. The colors that were used of course came from the different color schemes created by Flexa themselves.
