In 2019 OBM from The Netherlands and SEBSA from Sri Lanka founded a joint venture to combine their strenghts. This joint venture is called OBM Digital Factory, and it bridges the gap between Europe and Sri Lanka. OBM is known for its expertise in marketing and communication, but they also helped their customers with digital challenges. However, this also came with challenges for themselves. Maintaining a skilled development team was the biggest challenge. This is where SEBSA comes in.
They have over 50 software developers working for them already, and can use their extensive network to recruit new developers. The developers are as skilled as many developers in The Netherlands, speak English fluently and work during European times. Another benefit? They don’t cost as much as their Dutch counterparts. And so a joint venture was born to bring the two worlds together, and collaborate with European clients, with Sri Lankan developers.
We started with determining the core services of OBM Digital Factory and by writing the vision and mission of the company. After this, a brand story was written, which was used to create a brand guide. We decided that we would use the OBM brand guide as an inspiration, and to stay close to the brand to create recognition for clients of OBM.
After finalizing this, we determined the main pages of the website: Homepage, Service pages, Expertise pages, Portfolio, About us, Jobs, Blogs and Contact.
The design system and branding can be summarized as a dark mode of OBM. We use dark blue as a primary color and bright yellow as our call to action. The yellow is the same color we use for OBM. We added additional blue and gray colors to create a cohesive color scheme which matches the dark blue.
The different colors from the OBM gradient are used in the circle lines that you often see in the background of headers or elements.
